What is the Best Use for My Spare Time?
Mar. 21st, 2021 10:10 pm In my spare time-- That's to say, the time that I am not at work, cleaning the house, doing laundry, etc-- I have been working on a story for the GRIST Magazine story contest-- And it is really coming together well!
On the other hand, should I really be spending time on that story, or is there a better use of my time? We live in uncertain times. Maybe I should be concentrating my limited time and energy on something more critical that would help me out in case of future difficulties.
Which leads us to a Geomantic Question:
'Is there any greater spare-time activity for me than to finish my story entry for the GRIST contest?'
I selected the Shield Chart. Here's what I got with Fortuna major, Albus, Fortuna Minor, and Laetitia as the 4 mothers:

Looks like an emphatic "Yes" to me....Significant symmetries all the way down.
Which is disappointing because it indicates that there is something critically important that I should be doing these days which takes precedence over the story I have been writing.
Perhaps there are clues in the Triplicities;
1) Querent: health/habits/outlook -- Fort maj, Tristitia, Albus --Building--Sorrow--Passive wisdom.
2) E vents in Play--Fort min, Rubeus, Laetitia -- Surprise event--drama/passion--joy
3) Home/work/family/housemates - Fort maj, Tristitia, Albus --Building--Sorrow--Passive wisdom.
4) Friends/Associates/Authorities -- Fort min, Rubeus, Laetitia -- Surprise event--drama/passion--joy
Triplicities 1 and 3 are identical, so for the purposes of this question, perhaps I need to consider them together. Triplicities 1 and 3 could be thought of as internal to my personal and family life, while triplicities 2 and 4 seem concerned with things external to personal and family life.
Perhaps 1 and 3 indicate that the things I am building in my private life will pass through sorrow but result in wisdom. Alternatively, Tristitia may be related to planting. I have plans to add fruit bushes, fruit trees and nut trees to my property. Maybe I should get them put in sooner.
2 and 4 seem to indicate some sort of surprise event with associated drama that will result in joy. A surprise party perhaps, or an unexpected and dramatic event (at work?) that turns out for the best.
The next Geomantic Question:
'What project(s) should I spend my non-employment hours on that will be of greatest benefit for all?
House Chart: Querent is house I, and I will look at all houses for indications of the best area(s) by perfection with house I.
Here's what I got with Acquisitio, Populus, Puer, and Puella as the 4 mothers:

Acquisitio in House I perfects with House IX (Acquisitio).--So we are talking about a major undertaking -- Long physical journey, or possibly a major undertaking in spirituality, religion or philosophy. Acquisitio suggests there is something I need to gain or acquire, or that there is something I have already decided to acquire which is within my grasp.
The court figures are identical with Populus as judge --again-- Fortuna major as the past and future witnesses and Populus that amplifies the message. So possibly a call to persevere through difficulty to success.
Fortuna major shows up in V , consistent with crops/fertility plans discussed above.
Other:
Populus shows up in II as well as the court judge. Does this mean it will take a lot of money to accomplish my tasks? Or is it that they will eventually be profitable?
Puella - in IV and VIII. Ending of a lady? Or an ancient female spiritual entity is involved...
Amissio - in VI and XII This is an axis from professionals/illness/injuries to restrictions limitations. Possibly illness is a factor.
Putting it Together:
Considering both charts, I apparently need to step up my efforts to get food-growing plants going in the yard. Looks like this is the Spring for a Great Leap Forward in gardening!
