How will 2024 go for the USA?

As usual, here's my attempt at a Mundane Geomancy reading for the coming year in the USA--
I write down the boundaries of the reading  before casting, and this year I am going for less, and hopefully better, information:  For the past few years, I have gotten most of the useful hints of the future from the Court Story, Cardines, and Geomantic figures that repeat.  So this year, I am writing that into my bounsries for the casting;

Question: How will 2024 go for the USA?
Houses: All. , Focus on Court, Cardines, repeating figure

Mothers: Cauda draconis, Cauda draconis, Acquisitio, Laetitia.





Comments:  House I has Cauda Draconis, which traditionally means that my mind, or possibly the mind of the person on whose behalf the reading is made, has been made up, and won't listen to what is said.  Since it's a mundane reading on a large country for a year, it won't surprise me if no one pays attention to it! ;-) I'll proceed anyway--

Court story:

Witness 1 - Puer
Judge:  Populus
Witness 2 - Puer

Puer is about action, or rushing into actions without reflection.  Puer has no inner life.  It is the character of "Ready, Fire, Aim!"   Magnified by Populus, so everyone gets caught up in rash actions.  I'm guessing this refers to the US Presidential election and actions taken by all political actors in the months that lead up to it.  

Cardines:

End      VII Fortuna Minor     A swift and unexpected development from an outside source.

I        People are at their ends, driven blindly, not paying attention.
II       Endings appears in the Economy. Looks bad...
VI      Endings in Employment and professional services, so possibly an end to any benefits we hoped to get from professionals/ PMC.
XII     Endings in Limitations, Debts, obligations; If banks collapse, you no longer need to pay on the mortgage or student loans? That's a briight spot...
R       Endings in the Reconciler seems to emphasize lots of endings.






Puer:

V      Messages are coming in, but with no inner life, we are not able to absorb them.
X      Powerful people rush to action without reflection.
W1   See message above.

Populus:
IX     Many/All on a long journey.
J       Many! Judge magnifies Puer witnesses.
These events affect everyone; Everyone will have a long slog ahead of them in 2024.

Summary:  Lots of  bitter drama for the USA in 2024, conflict without negotiations or compromise.   On top of politics, bad economy may have disruptions so severe that government and professional services are disrupted-- But this may mean that debts are revoked in some way, or that conditions improve for many in a surprising way.

This is a year to look outside the box, consider actions carefully when we feel forced to act right now, and look for the third and fourth option when presented with an either/or choice.  And come to think of it, this sort of thing is what I expected for 2024 so Cauda Draconis as Mother 1 seems appropriate!  

I was surprised by the hopeful note at the end of the Cardines and in House XII, and encouraged to think that there is insight to be had if we can only take the time to reflect and look outside the box.

I'd be interested to read other folks' readings for the year ahead..

Yikes, that's not a fun chart at all.

The VI can also mean public health... by the way I interpret charts, I would read the Puer V/X in company with Cauda I/II/VI/XII to mean something like "the government (puer X) and the rich (puer V) engaged in some action hostile (puer) to the people (cauda I), primarily via public health (puer V company cauda VI) and the economy (cauda II) (and maybe things which we don't even know about (cauda XII)), which is going to be a big problem this year (cauda XII) that it is too late to do anything about (cauda)." I can think of half a dozen things fit that bill (mRNA vaccination, Ukraine, potential energy crisis and/or shipping crisis in the middle east, the widespread propaganda machine, election meddling, ...), so who knows what it'll end up being.

Yikes is right!
VI could be public health and I would lean that way if it were directly connected with X, in the way of healthcare pro's and treatments. It would be a good idea to do a separate reading anyway on healthcare in 2024. There's no question that Government AND the rich (especially the PMC) are getting more arrogant and high-handed in their treatment of the rest of us. Guess we'd better fasten our seatbelts...

14 Jan 2025 -- looking back at 2024, the US Presidential Election showed Democrats and Republicans on autopilot in a time when thinking outside the box could have been beneficial for the nation, and for the party that might have done it.
The Democrats autopiloted Biden back into a run for President when he was clearly too old and in failing health. It's likely he has Parkinson's Disease, Dementia or both. If it later turns out that his medical conditions were understood and he was allowed to run for President again anyway... Well, that would be reprehensible. Likely, we will never know. Had Biden and/or the Democrats decided to not run him, have an open Primary, and run whoever came out on top in such a process, they might have kept the White House. But the Democrats these days seem consumed with their own internal power struggles, and seem owned by the same business interests that have been skimming the resources of the middle class for 50 or so years. They deserved to lose. Democrats seem to have no insight into why they lost, and do not seem to care to look into it.
The Republicans put in a sorry performance, and are no better. They had a chance to give the boot to The Donald after his failed (and, BTW, ham-fisted) coup attempt in January 2020, but left him in place. His speech on January 7 2024 showed him, in his own words, to be an unfocused babbler consumed with the pain of personal wounds that were caused by his own actions. He outlined aspirations for taking over Greenland and Canada with arguments that could have come from Putin speaking about Ukraine. There was not even the slightest hint of concern for the impoverishment of the base that elected him, nor any plan to help them in any way. The Republicans did not deserve to win.
But I digress. With respect to Geomancy, this was pretty consistent with the chart. Sadly, not a surprising outcome, as hinted by Cauda Draconis in House I.

Cardines: Surprise implied in House VII -- Could refer to Biden's exit and Harris' appointment as a last-minute candidate in the Democrats

Laetitia in House IV - Aftermath; Laetitia is, on reflection, not always a good thing. Per Greer's APG (page 57) its character trait includes "clueless folly," and it is a mobile figure, "unfavorable for any question in which stability or deep roots are needed."

Summary - Some of the characteristics of 2024 came through. We'll see what 2025 brings.
